Dear Homeowners,
Residents on Mariners Way from 208 through 244, all residents on Callaghan Crescent and Quadrant Road:
Water supply to your area will be TURNED OFF until at least end of day Thursday. Unfortunately, there will not be any further rotations. The leak is too severe to leave water on for any period of time and the losses are draining water pressure from other areas in the District.
All other residents:
If you are experiencing low or no water pressure, particularly at higher elevations such as Spinnaker Drive, it will be restored as pressure slowly builds back up in the lines. We are unsure how long this will take.
What’s next?
The Operations Team is continuing to work and have isolated the leak to a specific zone in the District and those properties have been inspected. Pacific Leak Locators will be coming to assist but the earliest day they can come is on Thursday May 14 on the 7am ferry. We will be scoping the main lines including under road systems to try and locate the source of the problem.
*****Important To Note*****
All residents could have disrupted service or low water pressure on Thursday May 14 and possibly Friday May 15 if the work continues or until the repair is complete.
If / when we have any more information, we will send an additional update.
Washrooms for those affected are available at Dinner Bay Park and the Community Library in town.
