From resident and VPID trustee Don Barthel.
1. A shower where you initially get wet, turn off the shower, shampoo and soap, then quickly rinse, really uses minimal water.
2. If you have rainwater cisterns, you can flush using rainwater:
a. Turn off the water valve under the toilet.
b. If it’s yellow let it mellow, or otherwise gang up flushes.
c. Flush toilet then take off cover and fill from bucket containing rainwater carried in from outside.

3. Pre rinse dishes with last night’s saved dishwater.
4. Save laundry for later. Hand wash underwear and socks if you run out. I’m back to the mainland in two weeks so I’m just going to take my laundry to do there.
