Update – 1:00pm – Water shut off

In short: we are unable to restore water until we can locate and stop the leak

Our crews have been working hard to locate the leak that forced us to turn off the water this morning. They believe that they have narrowed down the location of the leak to Mariners Way east of Dalton and west of where the main water line comes down from the plant. It does not appear to be on an individual property. Unfortunately there is no visible signs of water along the road that would help us locate the leak.

Because this is the section of our main water line that services the entire district, we are unable to restore water until we can locate and stop the leak. We have contacted Pacific Leak Locators, the group that helped us find the leak we experienced in winter 2024.

We are very aware of the inconvenience that this situation causes everyone and we are very sorry. We cannot promise that water service will be restored for the weekend, so if your plans to visit Mayne this weekend are flexible, you might want to reconsider.

If the water shut off is prolonged, we plan to arrange for times when you can visit the treatment plant to fill jugs with potable water. We will advise you of specifics as they emerge.

We will do our best to keep you informed as we learn more.
