Water levels in our storage tanks at the treatment plant have reached critical low levels, primarily due to extremely high outflows for several days. Because of this the VPID Board has instructed our operations crew to turn off the water to the district at 1 pm today July 16th. We expect to restore water in the evening and will update you when that happens.
We have ordered water and our first delivery will be on Monday, with others coming later in the week. In the meantime, we may need to periodically turn off the water to part or all of the water district over the next few days. Our operations team will also be out tonight to determine if part of our problem is from a leak.
Needless to say, your cooperation with water conservation for the next several days is extremely important. You will find that water continues to flow from your taps after 1 pm, but when you use this water you are draining the system, which among other things could damage your hot water heater. It also greatly lessens the beneficial effects for storage of our water shut-off.
PLEASE DO NOT USE TAP WATER OR YOUR TOILETS AT ALL TODAY AFTER 1 PM, UNTIL WE ADVISE YOU THAT WATER HAS BEEN RESTORED
Your trustees deeply regret having to inconvenience you once again.
