We have 2 separate Roadworks taking place in our District to replace Water Lines beneath the road and will be commencing soon.
Leighton Lane:
Approval received from Ministry of Highways.
Starting September 2, 2025 roadwork will include cutting asphalt for the whole width of the road near Dinner Bay Road.
September 3 – 7 there will be machinery work to remove the cut asphalt, trench, remove the old water line, and install a new waterline. Once the water line is installed, the trench will be backfilled, compacted, and restored. There will be a single lane of traffic accessible at all times as the trench will be covered by a large metal plate to allow for pedestrians, cars, and bicycles to pass. The area will be heavily marked for safety. Please drive slowly and carefully to assist the working crews. Also take special care after hours when crews are not present.
Important to note – water will NOT be shut off to residents on Leighton Lane except for the 2 houses affected during the repair process.
Spinnaker:
Awaiting final approval from Ministry of Highways.
The same process will be taking place, and more details will be provided once final approval is in from the Ministry of Highways. We anticipate this to be soon and hope to start work in mid September.
